Galactica 1980 on DVD

Who knew that the DVD set for Galactica 1980 had been released? Quite often panned and derided as one of the worst shows ever, it does have one redeeming quality: an episode called "The Return of Starbuck", featuring Dirk Benedict and featuring a story that was more like the original show. Otherwise, it quickly devolves into a "superkids on Earth" show.

Some memorable moments...Cylons on Halloween...Wolfman Jack...Flying motorcycles...

1979 Battlestar Galactica Catalog

This definitely takes you back. Plaidstallions.com has a nice page full of images from the 1979 Battlestar Galactica toy offerings catalog. Those were some quality toys.

The toy license for Galactica was originally offered to Mego but they passed. Luckily for us, Mattel did not. The toy line sold well, until the show was yanked. Then sales disappeared. They gave us remote controlled cylon raiders, cute talking daggits, even a cheesy Space Alert game.

STANDUP CYLON COMIC!

This is one of our all-time favorite youtube videos. What's funnier then a Cylon Stand up comic? It makes the geek inside of me happy. You have to love the classic model cylons. There really are no other robots quite like them.

Meet the hardest working Cylon Centurion in show-business.
